Artist comments about the Image
What can I say?... I have always loved the moon, with its mystery and depth illuminating the night sky. I love this card because it seems to hold deep meanings. Again, the Moon is considered feminine (Artemis) and I chose to show this as a goddess figure holding the moon up in its journey across the star lit heavens. The typical symbols illustrated, of the dogs howling and the rushing river, insinuate primal instincts and the waters of life. The Moon is consort to the Dream Realm, teeming with subconscious symbolism, dark corners, the dancing visions of the poets and artists, and the power of nature. Here we are bare, stripped down and naked, channelling the truth through the most essential of self. In this realm, one either goes mad, or trustingly flows with the river glistening by the light of the moon, pushing us forward on our quest for illumination.
Meanings of this card:
Negative Card
The moon card is not such a nice card. This card specifically says that you should
beware. It is very similar to the Hermit Card and it talks or things like trickery,
treachery and betrayal. It also says that things are not quite what they seem to
be.
Cautious
A situation has been portrayed and it is actually not the way it seems.
Be very
careful and cautious. Do not part with money, do not sign documents, do not commit
yourself legally to a situation unless you are 100% sure of what it is. You need
to do want you want to do.
