Artist comments about the Image
This is definitely one of my favourite cards and she is representative of the secret church, the sacred bride, and eternal mystical truths. She also carries a sacred symbol, that of Isis which appears on her candleholder, the vehicle for illumination and light. She speaks to us about the deep sense of feminine intuitive knowledge which she is the keeper of. She can also contain dualities and bring the tension of opposites to balance.
The moon here is symbolic of Artemis, the feminine and deep wisdom, while the pomegranates hint at her connection to Persephone. She also keeps a skull upon her table tying her to Mary Magdalene.
Ultimately she represents many goddess roles and is sometimes referred to as the Shekhinah, the female indwelling presence of the divine.
Meanings of this card:
This card is like the female version of the Pope in our modern times.
Pregnancy
This High Priestess card also speaks of pregnancy but this time
it says there are new beginnings awaiting you but it also says that you
should go with your gut feelings on this one. The feeling here is that you will
just know. This is an instinctive feeling that you will need to move on.
Higher sources
The High Priestess is the sort of card tapping that speaks of you
tapping or using higher sources. On a inner level or a deeper level the high
priestess means new beginnings and a lot of good energy.
