The Emperor is a card with dual meanings as well, and I chose to hint at these again in the illustration. He represents strength, vibrancy, egotism, power and stability, yet he also contains the element for the need of escape from the responsibilities of his throne.

Here he is seen with the ram which represents strength, aggression and rigidity, and the eagle which is representative of his hierarchy and also his hidden desire to find freedom through flight.

He is obviously strong and full of vitality. Inwardly however, at times he grows restless and ponders what a life free from the shackles of commitment might be like.

Meanings of this card:

General

This card has the exact opposite meaning of the Empress card. This card says that it is time to express masculine energy. If there are decisions you have to make in your life make them firmly.

Examples of these decisions could be to move abroad, have another baby, quit your job, find someone or dismiss somebody. These examples should be applied to your life.

Masculine energy

Other things this card says is that you should be like an emperor. This means that you need to express your masculine energy. This means that you need to rather be firm than soft or taken advantage by others. This also means that you need to dig in your heels like a donkey. 

Decisions

This would mean that it is time to make a decision in your life and some of them need to be hard ones. You do not need to make the decision with your head. You will find making them with your gut will be better more like instinctive decisions.

This card means that when you wake up one morning you will decide that you need to start making these decisions. Remember to go with your feelings on this one and do not try to fight it.
